When I did that, the HID's were powered on instantly regardless of my car being in Reverse or not. Its as if the trigger wire was bypassed all together. However I think I realized what the problem was and that is I should have used the brown 87 wire supplying power to the ballast instead of the orange 87a wire. Is this correct?
This is how I had it setup:
30 (Yellow) - Car Battery
87a (Orange) - Power to Ballast
85 (Black w/ strip)- Trigger from Stock Reverse Harness
86 (Black)- Ground
87 (Brown) - Nothing
Red 12V connected to 30 (Yellow)
Thanks guys!
Connect relay terminal 85 to your 528T Orange wire.
Connect relay terminal 86 to ground. (you've now eliminated the strain on your 528T)
Connect relay terminal 30 to your power source (since HID's pull a good amount of amps to turn on, I'd try to connect this terminal strait to the battery with an inline fuse somewhere along the way. Probably start with a 20 amp fuse and go up if needed)
And Connect relay terminal 87 to the Ballast Positive.
Relay terminal 87A will not be needed.
