I run that sub in 1 ft Sealed and have been very happy with it. It's bridged off a Zapco C2K-6.0 and takes daily abuse.
RE suggest .75 to 1 ft. Sealed
1.5 ft. to 2 ft ported tuned to 35hz or 33hz respectively.

I'm not saying Sealed is better than Ported. I had a JL Stealthbox that came with a W-3V2. It worked ok but nothing like the RE. The enclosure was 1ft, not big enough to be ported and too expensive to discard.
I have heard this sub in a Ported box that also sounded great. Ported will give you more output at the cost of needing a bigger box. If you are running a huge amp, the RE SX might be a better choice. I'm sending 600W a coil without any hitches.
