Hello all,

I have the pricey POS GMOS 04 that is draining the battery on my 06 escalade ext.  It totally killed the battery within 10 hours even on a new battery.  Is there a better alternative? i chose this one because it let me retain on star and bose premium. Can I wire a relay to this to stop the drain, if so, where do I put it so I can retaio RAP feature.

Thanks

The proper thing to do, would be to hook up a digital meter and test for a draw on the battery. If there is, disconnect the module and see if the drain goes away. Don't assume something is bad until you have facts to back it up. Those modules are good and reliable, but like everything else, nothing is perfect.

If it is turning the radio off when you open the door it is hard to believe a GMOS is causing your problem. Current draw that strong would burn the thing up. As Sparky said do a current draw test or Try unplugging it overnight once and see if it kills it.

if you use the meter to do the current draw test, disconnect the radio first leaving the module plugged in. it could be the radio and not the module. if the draw is still there with the radio unplugged, unplug the module and see what happens. but i agree with the other guys that the module shouldn't make that big of a draw. if you still want to change modules you can go with PAC OS-2BOSE
