Hi

I have a 1998 Chevy cavalier z24 with factory keyless entry.

I am going to be installing a viper 5901 and was just thinking, If I tap into the door lock wires like I was told to do on this site (witch I was going to do on the pass side there is the factory relay on that side dont know if that matters or not) that would be like me sitting in the car ( like i did after the dome light when out) I hit my power lock switch on the door and the dome light's dont come on, when I hit the factory key fob unlock the lights come on.

Is there a way to have the dome light come on when you unlock with the viper like the factory?

Oh and I was going the hook into my door pins and  diode isolate for for the green door trigger is this correct?

Thanks!!

Read the unit's instructions ref the BLACK/ white wires that will show you and yes for the green wire and diodes.

Is that what the domelight supervison wire is for?

If so,  I have been reading a bit more and it shows using a relay for the domelight supervion wire,  I just dont know where to hook it up,  to the dome light itself ( dont know if that is + or -) or to the door pin,  and if i hook it up to the door pin  can I do that when I am  hooking the vipers green door trigger up to that wire too? oh and by the way the cavalier door pins are (-) they ground when you open the door.

Thanks

Oh,  and when I tag the cars white and blue wire for the power door locks with the the vipers lock and unlock,  do I need to   diode isolate them as well?

Thanks

Ref your last two posts, dome light wire from 30, black white from alarm to 85, 12v+ to 86 , good ground to 87. And again yes to the diodes, I've noticed the instruction manual asks for it now.

Yeah,  I know to diode isolate the door trigger's on the car when I hook them up vipers green trigger wire,  I was just wondering if you diode isolate the conections to the door locks to the viper's lock and unlock as well?

Maybe thats what you meant but just checking.

I dont have the manual yet just going off a old one,  the new viper should be here today I found a deal off this site!!

Thanks for your time!!
