does the 556u only work in a particular spot? not able to get it to remote start without the key fully being in the barrell. Tried to use the start with key sitting around the cylinder and it shuts off immediately tried using the bypass and wrapped the ring around the cylinder and same thing.  (factory alarm is disarmed)

any help please

Make sure antenna ring is tight around the barrel and as outboard as possible.

It uses a French Valeo transponder,  might be worth wiring it without the loop, look at the instruction manual for European cars, slightly different loking Civics are made in Japan, US, UK and France with a lot (more than other Japanese manufacturers) of local parts.

The transponder is (I think, not really sure) behind the H logo on the valet key.
If you're holding the key off-center, it might not work.
Anyway:
Ring tight around cylinder.
Valet key in 556U with the H logo lined up with the coils of wire you can see on there.
If you can't hear 556U click on during remote start, it might not be wired right.
