OK now we are getting somewhere. Slow start this morning. D bass is what the older sony decks use to call there loud button. Im betting its the box. Kicker subs love airspace. Ported with that sub is your best bet for loud.Even more so with that type of power to it.  They respond better to lower power than sealed. Do you have any measurement of the box? Is it made of 3/4 MDF? Need to know if this enclosure is even the right size. Also in a sealed box it needs to be air tight. Any leaks in the enclosure will make it sound like poopy and loose you a lot of output. Also as for gain. Take a look at this topic. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~85479~PN~1

Thing to do.

- Reset gains using the link i sent you. With your loud on if you feel you have to use it. I would not. Sub level at your normal loud spot. volume at 3/4 and tune it. Bass i would leave flat or at your normal - level. any time you raise the bass eq higher than what you had it set or if you tune without loud on and then turn loud on the gain needs reset.

- Check the box for any air leaks. Check all the edges and around the sub its self. Measurements for the box would help greatly to know if it is even the correct size.
