If a 2 ohm stereo load puts out the same amount of power as a 4 ohm mono load, How is one easier on the amp?

That's what I'm tryin to figure out    but on my amp    it has 2 different numbers for the 2 different ohm loads . i.e. my pioneer 760 says

Continuous power(4ohm): 125Wx2

Continuous power(2ohm): 190Wx2

Continuous Power(4ohm) bridged: 380Wx1

So it does make a difference

2 Ohms per channel = 4 ohm mono.  Notice that the power rating is 190 per channel at 2 ohms.  Now notice that the 4 ohm mono rating is exactly the same.  190+ 190 = 380.

I understand that but if I have 2 4 ohm speakers hooked straight to 2 channels then i would be getting less power to each speaker. The only way I can think of to get the best bass is connecting the 2 speakers together and then bridging the amp. I tried this on a cheap 1200 watt pyle chopper series and I fried the amp. I don't know if that was because it was'nt stable or if ur just not supposed to do that. But I do know that while the speakers were hooked together and bridged  I got way more bass out of them than hooking them up normally( one to each channel). So if it is the same... then why did I get more bass from the bridged speakers???

Because you were running the amp into a 2 ohm mono load.  It will not play for long.

For some reason I really didn't take that into consideration when I posted. I was just thinking ohms..

Easiest way to get more BASS. More power from a good mono block amplifier and an enclosure designed for the subs
