Can anyone explain to me why you can't use Virtual Tach with a manual transmission on the DEI Responder LC models(i.e Viper 5901,etc.)?

you cant use virtual or voltage sense on any manual transmission starter that ive ever worked on plus why would you find a tach line its better

Uh yeah, I already know that, as I said in my post. But I'm curious as to why you can't use virtual tach with an MT.

its a safety and liability issue

virtual tach and voltage sense do not immediatly go on/off when the vehicle is turned on/off so the car wont know the car is on/off right away

if your battery is low the starter might think the car is off when it is actually running

a tach or alternator sense wire will be an immediate signal so its better  and more consistant

also with voltage sense if the car is on a battery charger it goes to the same voltage as when it would be running

hope this answers your question

So what's that got to do with a manual transmission? DEI recommends using virtual tach for auto transmissions, but the virtual tach can't be used in a manual transmission.
