Would someone be able to send me a picture of a diode properly connected in an alarm set up. Is the wire just cut, spliced back and soldered to each end of the diode? Sorry for such a stupid request.
my e-mail is brianb1975@aol.com
Thanks,
Brian

In order to be able to use the diode again if necessary, I strip insulation off of some 18 Ga. primary wire and insert it over the legs as depicted in the first diagram.  The wire insulation is red.   Then insert heat shrink tubing over each end of the cut wire.  Solder the wire to the diode as depicted in diagram 2.  the solder is yellow.  Then slide the heat shrink tubing over the solder joint and shrink it.  As depicted in the last diagram.
