I still have an original alpine remote with a broken case I am going to use to program these remotes. I just bought 3 of these remotes from eBay for only 14.99 each with cheap shipping. Only using one for my car. The others are for HOMELINK and gate/garage lights. The range has to be better than my current remote (works max 30 feet) and my gate garage remote only about 10 feet. Remocon says they can be tuned for the most distance of any remote on the market.

I'll report back with the results.
