the dome light is the easiest way to do this on a ranger. i wouldn't bother with independent door triggers. do you have the install manual for your alarm? if all else fails you can go to a shop and buy a small relay to switch the polarity of the door trigger to work with your alarm.

I bet I can hook up independent triggers, faster than you can run to a shop and buy a "small relay"

i can hook up independent triggers faster than you can. we're not dealing with a pro here, so i was just giving options. you never know, his doorpins could be fudged. you should make sure you have a sharp knife before you try to stab someone with it.

Is that kinda like bringing a knife to a gun fight...? Those vehicles seem to not work very well...I have seen alot of problems w/ the fords(dome lights and truck bed lights staying on)...Normally just some WD_40 works great...

Ok I have another question the car alarm says to hook up a wire to the accessory and it shows a key and ignition so I'm guessing that I need to hook it up to the ignition but idk which wire to use
thank you

you have to connect this to a true ignition wire in the vehicle, using your meter at the ignition harness meter the wires, this wire will read 12 when you turn to the on position and remain at twelve or there abouts when cranking and after the vehicle has started. this wire must never drop to zero while cranking.

oh and by the way as soundnsecurity said, the dome is easiest here, you won't require any relays to switch polarity either, it's straight negative trigger.
