Only problem with them firing straight up is that it just rattles the deck lid and does not sound all that good. Following is a (from what I can remember about it) diagram of the box I built.

hmmmm that is something that i did not even think of.....i did want them to be moutned right above the well but i was gonna have the top part at a angle so that they were not pointing striaght at the back well ya kno?  would that work any better?

and i like that sub box design but is it legal? like can you still see out the back?....btw the offset is correct

Yes you could still see out the back. It only made it up to the middle of the window.
Any angle will help. The rattling can now be cured with Dynamat, they make some just for panels and rear decks.

oh nice it just looked bigger in the pic....but ya i figured i could get like a 30 degree angle outta the thing maybe and that would prob be enough right? and ya i did think about dynamatting the entire trunk to stop the rattling i hate that when people's whole car rattles and doodie....

so would it be possible to get all the dimensions from you guys? i want this thing looking mint

If you could draw a diagram of the shape you desire and the maximum dimensions that you have to work with, and the dimension that you would rather take from to achieve the volume you desire, we can help you with the design.
