Really all comes down to the seat that we're talking about. In trucks and SUV's, one of the first places I check for mounting locatons is underneath seats. As long as there's a good 1/2" clearance above the amp and it's free air on all sides, it's a perfectly good mounting location. I wouldn't consider doing something like this under the back seat of a Civic though.

Exactly, I'm talking about if your car doesn't have any clearance under the seat, IE you are literally sitting on the amp / the cushion is pushing down on the amp.
