notice he said that the subs are the least important thing in your setup.
what are you REALLY looking for and be honest with yourself. if all you want is some smooth bass then nobody can really tell you what to get because we are even more blind than you are. only YOU know what YOU like.
mr DYOHN gave you basically everything you need to know. whether you can/want do it yourself or not is beside the point but if you choose to do it yourself then be prepared to go through a lot of trial and error and money to find something that sounds good to you.
i second the suggestion of laying your whole car with some type of dynamat. you would probably be surprised by how much better your system can sound when it doesn't have to compete with road noise or engine noise. this is definitely step one. and the good thing is that you can do this yourself if you can spare the whole day to do it and all you need is a heat gun and a roller or the round end of a screw driver if you are desperate.

THERE it is right there!   The only way I will get involved with someone's system is if they are willing to meet all the demands. First thing is plan, that tells you what wiring is needed and where its going. If the owner is cool with the cost of sound dampening and wire, connectors and the labor, then we can proceed with the rest.
This is what I do for FUN!

I gave you all the tips I can.  If you choose to not listen, so be it.

As far as sub brand I suggest Funky Pups.  Those beyatches be bumpin.

I learned something today.  I knew about the Funky-Pup coaxials and separates, but I had no idea they made subs.

Front or Rear, you decide.  Either one will work fine.  If your radio has internal crossovers, you must turn it off on whichever set you use.

As long as you can turn the high pass filter off, your deck will be fine.
