I have used this forum for over 6 years and joined because this is the first question that I could not find a answer for by using the search function.

Shown how good the forum is for information.

I will be installing a 5901 in my wifes new winter car.

I know I need a bypass and looking at a XK01.

Found this and thinking of getting it.

Do they come with the D2D cable, or is that with the 5901 ????

Any better choice ???

Thanks,

Ed

What kind of car...? GM im guessing...?? How are we supposed to recommend something...?Are you familiar with installing  R/S's...? The 5901 is tough to understand there wording in the install manual(wire function and description)...But there are quite a few posts on that model/topic...Yes...The XK01 comes with the d2d wire...! BTW...Your link doesnt work...! We pretty much use Flash-it.com these days for our bypasses...!

The XK01 will only do Door locks for that. Use the Xk06 for your immobilizer bypass. As for the door locks I believe they are inside the driver door switch, so you might want to use an XK01 as well for those. Otherwise just run your wires through the door.

what he said. XK06 for the remote start bypass or a DLPK or CANMAX400 for a combo bypass

DLPK will not do both unless you buy the Transponder ring for the GM's. And I wouldn't recommend the CANMAX400.

I plan to install a Viper 571-xv in a 2009 Pont. G6 sedan 4 cylinder.

Was looking at the 5901 but between the price and that I do not need a alarm made me look at the 571-xv.

For the bypass I plan to use a DLPKGM-GM to do the starter bypass and door locks.

The key as far as I can tell is a standard key with nothing special about it.

My question is will this bypass work out of the box without having to buy the Xloader ???

Is the DLPKGM-GM the best choice for a 2009 G6

Is the wiring the same for a 2007 which is the most current on downloads for this site.

Thanks for any help

The DLPKGM is completely useless for an '09 G6, since this vehicle uses CAN and not J1850 for its data communication.
I'd suggest using the 1701G instead, which should do locks/trunk release, immobilizer bypass and/or operation of the factory remote start.
Look closely at the key - I'll bet anything that on the shaft you'll see a + sign with a circle around it, since the car has GM's Passkey III Plus immobilizer.
Wiring should be the same as the '07 in any case.

Thank you very much for the information.

I don't know how I got off track on the bypass.

You are right about the key.

One of my buddie's had a shop that did auido/starters a few years ago so I could just stop and by with some coffee and donuts and find out all the latest information but he has moved on from that.

Thanks

I will be installing a Viper 160xvl in a 2009 Pont. G6 using a Fortin CAN-SL2 bypass.

My question is I need a negative Input while running from the starter to connect to the bypass (Pin 11)

On the DEI unit I'm having a problem figuring out which wire to use.

I also need a Groung Out to connect to a relay for the bypass.

Thanks for any help.
