cd, amp, 05 kia amanti

I just hooked up an amp/sub in my 05 kia after i finally got my cd player installed. The sub is a brand new jlw3v3-4ohm, and the amp is an older rockford punch 200.2. I hooked up everything and all the sub does is mumble. I havn't used this amp in a long time, how could i tell if its no good anymore? ThanksThe amp is 2 channel, i'd like to bridge it. I've tried both channels separately and the same thing happens.

Do you have a Pioneer radio?   If the amp is producing any kind of sound at the speaker, chences are the amp is fine.  If you do have a Pioneer radio, perform the test at the top of the following webpage.  http://bcae1.com/images/rca/temporaryrcashieldrepair.html

I have an alpine cda-105.

I went to try it again, 1 channel sounds clear but its not loud at all. The other channel just puts out distorted mumbles. Is there a place i can take this amp to have it looked at or fixed? I'm in MN if it makes a difference.

Yeah my amp looks just like that. I tried taking out that card and put it in on LP. It was kind of stiff to get out maybe its a little corroded. I turned the gain all the way up on both channels just to have them equal until i get it going.

If the contacts are corroded on the crossover card, use some 200 grit sandpaper to remove the corrosion from all sets of connections on the card.  After cleaning with the sandpaper, apply some WD-40 on a paper towel and wipe al 4 sets of connections to prevent it from happening again.  The contacts on the socket in the circuit board are usually not affected by this. 

That did help a little bit, I have it hooked up on 1 channel. When i try to bridge it through the other channel it doesnt do anything, must be fried. How much would this cost to fix? I'd like to put a little more power to this sub. Thanks
