So i searched for information on the GMOS-01, I don't think I found what I was looking for. I have a 2008 GMC Canyon, OnStar/Non-Bose. I am wanting to install a double din JVC KW-XG700 head unit. I plan on running separate sub/high-mid amps. Am I to understand that the GMOS-01 module uses the front left speaker for it's chimes and such? If so, what's the point of using the module if I am installing after market door speakers running off an amplifier?
Am I missing something here?
Many thanks,
-josh

The chime originates from the factory radio, or the OS1 if you remove the radio. Without the module, you will lose the chime and also the On-Star.

i would buy a small speaker to hook up to the gmos-01 and hide that speaker away somewhere under the dash that way you can still have your onstar and still run the amp the normal way
