I have an 05 Equinox and I am trying to learn what both sets of wires on the 12 and 24 pin radio harnesses are responsible for. Maybe a Pin breakdown that I can use to hardwire a handsfree kit. I have seen people list them by

Pin 1 - Battery

Pin 2 - ACC

and Etc. It would be a great help as I think the harness that I got to do the job, The GMCELLV2, has wires in the wrong place of what the Chevrolet Stock harness is. The GMCELLV2 also only hooks up to the 12 pin connector and I think most of the important wires are on the 24 pin stock harness.

Well I figured out the whole 24 pin layout by matching up a reverse wiring harness to a crutchfield wiring diagram with pinouts. Now I only need what the 5 wires on the gm 12 pin harness are for.

The colors of the wires are

Pin 1 - Pink/Black, Pin 2 - ORANGE / Black, Pin 3 - Yellow, Pin 4 - BROWN / White, and Pin 5 -  GREEN / WHITE, in that order respectively. Those are the only wires used on the whole 12 pin harness.

Any help will make my day.

Figured Out 5 Wires. Now if I can only get this Handsfree Kit wired up correctly. The Metra Site has both 24 and 12 pin wire pinouts for the 2005 Equinox. I will post them here for people who need them. I got them off of the Reverse Wiring harness that goes to the Vehicle.

Where are all the Pro's? Someone must know what these five wires on the 12 pin harness mean.
