06 silverado 5901 dlpkgm problem

Hello Everyone.  Long time reader, first time posting.

I've been reading up in this alarm and finally got a good deal on one.  I got the 5901 and DLPKGM.  I downloaded a bunch of information, made notes on the install manual and went to town.  I've installed a few stereo systems, and this is my second alarm install.  The first was on my motorcycle, so it's not as sophisticated as this.  The issue I have is the check engine light is on.  Whether I start it with the RS or the key.   I have no idea why.  Here is what I connected.  Any ideas, please let me know.

H3 10-pin

And that’s it. As I was typing this, I think my error is in the H3 harness. I should use the pink/white wire to White. Not %100 sure.

You got it wrong.

RED / white should go to +12V constant and pink/white goes to ignition2 white

Also you have to connect RED / black to +12V constant if you hadn't already done so.

Ok, this is what I've done so far,

H3 10-pin

Pink/white - Ignition

RED / black - 12v Constant

The check engine light is still on.  Do I need to do anything with the pink/black?

Can you be more specific ? Describe what steps you had done after you corrected the wiring connections. You hooked up the dlpkgm, did you successfully programmed it ?

Go back to rs, did you learn the tach ? You initiate remote start, did the truck start ? no start ? Is the engine light on all the time even you start with the key ? or just comes on during remote start ?

First, thanks so much moonliter.  I appreciate you taking the time to help.  I would buy you a beer, but the beer over here doesn't compare to an ice cold Molson from Canada. :-)

I double checked the connections.   Everything works as its supposed to. The dlpkgm was programmed successfully.  I learned the tach.  Remote start works wonderfully .  The engine light came on with the key and during remote start.  So I took it to a local auto parts store to see if they can read the code and to my surprise, it is no longer legal to do that.  I would either have to buy one or take it to a mechanic.  I went to another auto parts store and they told me the same.  As I'm driving back, I decided to check the air to see if its working.  as soon as I turned it on, the check engine light turned off!!!   wth???   What a relief.  So I'm not sure what the problem was, but turning on the air cleared the check engine light and I am happy.
