fog light switch on a tahoe

i have a 1999 tahoe and i was just wondering if anyone can help me my fog light switch is broken and i was told i can wire an aftermarket switch to turn my fog lights on and off but wen i took off the dash off i saw that there where 4 or 5 wires comming from the connector but i dont know which wires to connect the switch to can anyone help

What kind of switch do you have and test with a volt meter, each wire coming from the car to see what is ground and what is power and what goes to you fog lights.

Usually you will have 4 wires - two for the switch and two for the light.  This assumes that the switch controls a relay and not the lights directly.

Use an ohm meter and find out which two contacts go to 0 ohms when the switch is on and connect those two wires to the swtich.
