Hi Guys and Girls,

I know there has been many versions of how to make the mirrors fold in and out automaticaly but can someone sum it up for me. I have purchased 2(two) DEI 528t pulse timers and i also have a DPDT relay.I dont know if i need any other parts but  I would like to fold them in with ignition off and out with ignition on. I have managed to connect the relay but that has a constant  pos/ neg supply and i dont know how to connect the DEI 528t  from that point on.

The first thing is to tell us what happens to what wires when you press the fold switch to make it go in and out. Some vehicles require 1 to go pos, some Nissans and Toyotas require one to go pos and one to go neg then reversed to change direction, whilst some Mitsubishis just need a momentary positive pulse!

Ok at the push of the switch to open the mirrors one wire is positive and the other is ground and reverse to close. You do not have to press the switch and hold it the switch is one touch for both open and close funtions, and this works withe the ignition off.

To close, take 1 x 528t, mirror close wire, cut, join switch side to orange, mirror side to yellow and brown and red to a 5 amp fused constant 12v+ supply. Join the trigger wire to an ignition source which reads 12v+ when ignition on and goes to ground when ignition is switched off. If you leave the switch in the open position, that's all you will need. Adjust the 528t for 5 secs., you can watch the contacts on the relay to determine the time.

HI Howie,

Thanks for your support and patience. I was bench testing and wired the (Yellow,Brown, and Red) wires to a constant 12v supply. I also gave the trigger wire a constant  12v-neg  same as ignition off and the timer does its cycle no problem, but when i give the trigger wire a constant 12v positive same as ignition on  the timer starts the cycle but  starts to flicker when it ends.

One thought, a 1N4004 diode in line with the ignition feed, band towards ignition.

I said ignition wire because when the ignition is turned off, it should go to ground. TEST. This will initiate the 528t to fold the mirrors in.
When the 528 times out, no more current is drawn.
Leaving the mirror switch in the fold out position will automatically return the mirrors (fold out) when you turn on the ignition.

I understand the ignition part, but on the orange wire does this change from constant 12vpos to ground when the timer kicks in?

No, the orange and yellow are connected when the timer (528t) isn't activated, they break connection on activation when 12 voklts is fed to the yellow from the brown.
