50-249 posts=standard member

250-999=silver member

1000+=gold member

As I understand it, standard members can edit their own posts and upload images, but not delete their own posts.  Silver members can upload files in addition to images, and delete their own posts.  Bberman1 is the only gold member right now so I have no idea what (if anything) additional you can do at that level.

I haven’t seen any difference since I became a gold member! But I think some of the more active members should be able to have full privileges since they are valuable assets to the forum.

Certainly you MUST have noticed the extra star under your namepre-out noise - Page 2 -- posted image..

anyways, I can usually delete my posts, if I try to do so soon after posting.  I haven't noticed any particular time frame that you have before it doesn't let you delete them, cuz I always am only deleting topics immediately after I post them. i.e. when I post the same thing someone else just said but beat me to it.pre-out noise - Page 2 -- posted image.

On certain topics, however, I can not delete my posts even if I try immediately after posting.  I don't know if this depends on what level member started the topic, or how many total posts have been in the topic, or how long the topic has lasted, or what.

Agree with you about the full privileges for most members.  But I can understand the potential for abuse if casual browsers and web surfers who've only posted once or twice, are given the ability to upload files and images.

Let me just say that I've tried a couple other mobile electronics forums online and none of them can even compare to the12volt.com.  Not only do we have so many active members contributing to the forums on a regular basis, but the whole interface for creating/editing/posting messages is BY FAR the easiest one to use.  The way I see it, 12volt has somehow not only kept this site free for all of us to use, but kept it up to date and included some really cool features along the way.  The knowledge that I myself have learned from it, I could not put a price tag on.  And so he is more than welcome to do whatever he wants as far as restricting members' privileges, myself includedpre-out noise - Page 2 -- posted image..

esmith69 don’t delete your message or I will look weird posting this, but I have to agree that this is the best 12volt forum on the web and I have learned more here than from anything else. But I don’t think that most members should have full privileges.  I think the members that are active on the forum and provide help for people on a daily basis like yourself should have access to delete edit etc despite their membership status.  I’m not complaining by any means I don’t have a problem with the way its set up now. Come to think about it I have never really thought about it until it came up today. I’m not asking to see any changes in the future I'm just voicing my opinion.
