Sorry im a newbie to this but what do you mean by (-) thru 1k? do i have to put some kind of resitor or something to connect the parking light wire from my security system? i have a avital 2100L thanks in advance

place a resistor inline with the negative parking light output.

Two more question tedmond what size/kind of resistor and do I just place it between the wires?

any resistor of correct resistance will work. you will place it inline as in wire-resistor-wire.

another question tedmond. do i need a resistor for the wire going into the horn and if so how do i know what size resistor?

How do I find out the correct Watt resistor I found the 1k but there is 1/8 thru 1 watt resistors
