I have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. When I turn the key off the radio wont stay on. I pulled the radio and all the wires seem to be connected and there is no inline fuse that I can see. I checked the rap #1 relay and the rap #2 fuse and they seem to be ok but I'm not totally sure how to test the relay. It hasn't stayed on since I bought the truck in '08, but all the other trucks like mine will stay on. What else can I check?

Is this the factory radio or aftermarket?

2002 and 2003 are different. RAP also should allow your windows to operate? Do they?

It is the stock radio. No the windows do not operate after the ignition is off and the door is not opened.

If you want the radio to remain on until the door is opened, there is a diagram in the relays section that can do that with 2 relays, the only difference is it will not cut off after 20 minutes.  If you want it to cut off after 20 minutes, you need to buy a 2003 or newer vehicle.

I just learned today that RAP was a feature of the 2002 Tahoe and Suburban.   I do not know if it was  on the 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks.

I think it is because I have the RAP relay in my interior fuse box as well as a RAP fuse. Any ideas?

Thats because you may have the same fuse box as the light duty trucks that came with it. I was trying to search for an answer for you. I came across a downloadable owners manual for your truck and I did not see any reference to RAP modules.
