I have a gmc sierra 2004. I just now got done wiring the 5901 up and the xk01. I started the truck with the actual key and it was fine. I unlocked and locked the doors and those worked fine. But when I try to remote start the truck it tries starting up and dies immdiatly with the car security light flashing

Does anyone have any suggestions on this weird mishap?

Did you set the XK01 ( w/AMDL firmware) to vehicle Type 4 when programming it to the truck? And did the XK01's red light follow the install guides programming sequence?

try remote starting it with the factory key in the ignition. If that works, then the problem is in the xk01(install or programming)

I figured it out. I for some reason got the orange wire (Disarm) mixed up with the ground when on wire. My status output on the 5901 was connected to tthe orange wire hence why it sorta worked lol.

Actually this wont work since there is no chip in the key, just to help you in the future. Passlock 2 systems are a bit different...
