If you want to put your mind at ease and just see if the amp is working, remove the remote wire from the amp and insulate the wire so it will not touch anything.  Now take a short piece of wire and attach it to the remote terminal of the amp, then touch and hold it to the power terminal of the amp, this should make the amp turn on and play.

I have an after market alpine x200 and I have all the wires crimped and spliced together I will check all my splices and make sure nothing is wrong at that end.
I ordered a new fuse it should be here tomorrow or the next day, will the remote cause the amp not to play and output music?
Thanks
Keith

If you followed my instructions when you tested power and remote, there is no problem with your fuse.  Low voltage on the remote wire will keep the amp from turning on.

Well I will have 2 spares now lol.
I guess this is where I am confused (sorry) Is there a difference between the amp being on and being on to play music? Because The lights are on the amp and it shows power being on to the amp. I will double check the remote wire tomorrow. I will see how many volts are on the radio side of the splice to see what I should have at the amp. Assuming my remote is closer to 12 volts if not 12 volts is there anything else that could be causing the issues I am having?
Thanks
Keith

A couple posts ago I suggested a way you could find out if your amp is OK.

Oops, I completely missed that post! I saw the last post on page 1 and replied to that never saw that post. I will try what you said to see if it is the remote causing the issue.
Thanks
