I just installed a viper 5701 in my 94 chevy s10 and everything works fine. But I am having a problem with the 2way remote all the controls work including the locks and remote start but I keep getting a error beep and the led by the function key lights up. It doesn't light up the light next to the lock or unlock or the remote start when you push the button to confirm that it did the function you asked. I don't know if that makes sense but i hope somebody can shed some light on this for me. Thanks

Well I just got it, although it was refurbished so it guess it could be. I wonder if I try the 10k resistor on the blue antenna wire. But if that doesn't work can I buy another brain box and remotes from say the 5901 and would the plug into my 5701 harnesses and save me the work of rewiring?

I've installed a couple of these refurbished units in my kids cars and had no problems with the remotes.  I bought extra 2 way remotes and nothing wrong with them.  Just for grins you could try to delete all remotes and then reprogram them to the brain. Also maybe try to remove the batteries for a few minuets, maybe pull the fuse on the brain wire then reprogram the remotes.  Just a thought that is cheap.

The first gen of these had big 2 way problems.
And if you have an earlier refurbished one, the newer brains actually have different wiring harness', so you would have to re-wire it. sucks, i know...
