I installed a factory handle on a 04 silverado with a 5.3 motor.I get no cruise light and the cruise doesn't work.

Everything should be installed properly,this isn't my first rodeo.I have had fresh "eyes" check the 4 wires . everything is correct.

I also tried an aftermarket handle ,as I have installed them before that way. Still no light or cruise hook up.....

I have checked fuses,I have brake lights...what else???

What part number is the handle that you have ? There are two handles available, one for the vans and one for the trucks.

Does the vehicles computer not need to be programmed with the cruise option?

Not on this body style 1500 truck. Only the 2007.5+ requires programming.
