parking and headlights with wipers on

I have a 2000 ford explorer xlt 4 door and I am wanting to wire up a relay to make my parking and/or headlights on when I turn my wipers on but my wipers are not a constant 12volt. The show 12 volt when in motion and show ground when they are not. Is there a way to wire a relay or more to make this work or am I just out of luck. I found the relay diagram for it but it is on the basis that when the wipers are on it reads a constant 12 volt and not alternating current from 12 volt to ground depending on when the wipers are in motion or standing still during the preset wiping cycle. Any help anyone can offer will be appreciated greatly.Bobby Hill

You can try something like this, though a long intermitttent cycle may be a problem. https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp#pts I'd consider just latching on a pulse instead, and just leave the lights on for the rest of the drive cycle. Or use a more sophisticated circuit or timer module for the purpose.

Where did you test the wiper voltage? Have you tried the steering column or the body control ECU ? Unless it's data. At the wiper motor you should have a ground, a constant ign live feed and and further feeds going live as speed 1, 2, etc. Try and get a circuit diagramme, that will tell you.
