yes you did tell me the park brake wire, sorry but i did overlook that, so thanks. i hot wired the car and it runs fine, so thats the immobiliser question sorted. i just now have to find the lock wire and i will try to if like you say extending the pulse will roll the windows.

just a quick update in case anybodys interested.

All is finished and i am well pleased with the result. took me a while from start to finish as i had a bunch of other stuff going on at the same time and this wasn't my priority. i basically worked on it in the evenings every now and then until i was happy. while i was doing the install i also had my lcd screen fixed  (sent away) and replaced the window guide in my drivers door as it rolled up real slow ( fixed it so i could use the viper window roll up feature)

i hooked up the window roll up and down which is more of a quirk than anthing else but still a cool feature. i also wired up the front headlights and reverse lights as an auxilary function which lights for 30 secs.  i added a turbo timer button too, so the car runs for  1 minute after shutdown to cool off my badboy turbos.all i all was pretty easy to do, just takes time to find the right wires and correct wiring info sheets as most are wrong even those given to me on here. I soldered EVERYTHING so that too takes longer. no bypass module needed as my car does NOT HAVE AN IMMOBILISER as i also got told by a million people that it does. so it goes to show some models are different so test every wire first.

I'm glad it all turned out well for you, now you see why installers hate Audis! I'm known here as the BMW King yet I still hate Audis, they are so hard to do and so complicated compared to BMWs. Sorry about the immobiliser confusion, it's just that in Europe, EVERY car or light commercial (up to 3.5 tons) sold on or after 01/01/97 had to have one PITA!

no probs howie, i appreciated all of your help. its good when guys take the time to help others even when there is no gain in it for them. you are often on here giving good advice.  you are right about the audis, very time consuming, espiecially to do it right but still glad i did it.
