Damn, no editing post.

When I said put the DLPKGM lock wire to ground, I meant a temporary touch to ground, to simulate a ground signal from a lock command from the car.

Been installing for 15 years

W2W IS the most reliable way, sometimes D2D can give you some issues. W2W avoids them.
