i have a dual 4 ohm VC woofer and an amp that will provide 560 RMS at 4 ohms bridged.   being that i can only wire my sub to get 2 ohms or 8 ohms can i still bridge it and get 560 RMS at 4 ohms bridged?

simply no,
Like you said the amp will see either 2 ohms (parallel) or 8 ohms (series).
Since overloading the amp at 2 ohms is not recommended, I suggest you run it at 8ohms bridge.
This way the amp will see the same as 4ohms per channel.

bridgeing into 8 ohm will get you about half of what it would be bridged into 4.  That being said i agree with icearrow6.  it is batter to under power, than to over drive the amp by bridging into 2 ohm, and burning it up.

If your cousin is such a good installer, and he will install anything for a 6 pack; why are you talking to me?
