I put a kill switch on the cruise control button, and also the wipers, so if you wanted to crank the car you had to hold the cruise button down and turn the wipers on to crank the car. You also had to do it in that order otherwise you would never crank it.

I did mine with a magnet and magnetic switch mounted under the console. If the magnet wasn't placed on the right spot on the console or the dash for that matter (depending where you wanted it mounted). the car wouldn't start. There used to be a system sold called the "silent system", thats where I got the idea. The best part was.....it was eligible for the discount on the insurance because it was of the type that you could not forget to arm it. Depending on the vehicle, there is probably a few options as far as tieing it in. On the older GM vehicles, there was the infamous pink wire coming from the column.

Ok, so if you hooked up a kill switch, and then everytime you got in the car you had to flick it to start the car....what would happen with a remote start?

Can you have the remote start fick the switch and start automatically?

It seems that some switches are actual on/off, and others have to be held in to start?

Just have the remote starter START wire on the otherside of the kill switch relay or switch. No need to have to install another circuit to bypass a bypass.

just get one of those batteries from sears that have the remote turn on and turn off, this way you could have it when you wanted it, and it would be on a remote.
