kenwood ps400m amplifier

I have a kenwood ps400m amplifier and when everything is hooked up the amp turns on and the light is green but after it clicks it goes red and into a safe mode all of the fuses are fine and im running out of patience please help with any info, links or anything that might help

how do you have  the amp wired up, and what do you have it hooked up to.

The amp is wired to the batterie with 4 ga. wire  the amp is mono so it is only hooked to one sub i think the power and ground connections are good.

what kind of sub (single or dual voice coil), how many ohms are each coil, and if a dvc, how is it wired (series or parallel)

I'm not too familiar with kenwood amps, but i just downloaded the manual and it says that red indicates normal operation.  If the light is green it means you have a problem.  It is supposed to start green and then turn red after a few seconds.  Is the amp working correctly.
