Hey guys, I'm going to be installing my gear pretty soon... does anyone have experience doing this?
I browed through hundreds of posts, but never found a true guide to wiring a Viper 5301 remote starter with a CANMAX 400. I pieced the install information together and came up with this.
Does this wiring look good to you?
CANMAX 400DEI --> ACCORD
20-pin connector --> 7-pin connector (Behind key cylinder)
PIN 3 (tan) - CAN Low --> PIN 3 (blue) - Imm. Conn. (white)
PIN 4 (tan/black) - CAN High --> PIN 4 (pink) - Imm. Conn. (white)
PIN 14 (violet/white) - IMM. Data --> PIN 6 (lt. green) - Imm. Conn. (white)
CANMAX 400DEI --> VIPER 5301
4-pin D2D harness --> VIPER 5301 D2D connector
VIPER 5301 --> ACCORD
Primary (H1) 12-pin connector
H1/2 (red) - 12V input --> H3/5 (red) - H3 connector
H1/5 (black) - Ground --> Ground
Heavy gauge (H3) 8-pin connector
H3/1 (pink) - Ignition 1 (out) --> Ignition 1 (blue) - Ignition harness
H3/3 (orange) - Access. output --> Access. 1 (orange) - Ignition harness
H3/4 (violet) - Starter output --> Starter 1 (yellow) - Ignition harness
H3/5 (red) - Ignition 1 (in) --> 12V 1 (white) - Ignition harness
H3/8 (RED / black) - Acc. start. in --> H3/5 (red) - H3 connector
Remote start input 5-pin connector
PIN 1 (BLACK/ white) - Neutral sfty --> Ground
PIN 3 (brown) - Brake shutdown --> Brake (lt. green) - Brake pedal switch
PIN 5 (blue/white) - Rear defog --> Rear defrost (black)Fuse box green
Any help appreciated!

download the two documents. one is a wiring guide, the other is a full DIY guide that i wrote.

good luck.

OK, everything is installed (or so I think).

I can lock / unlock the doors, but I cannot get into programming mode through the valet swtich. What should I be checking? Here is what I do:

1. Turn ignition On, then Off

2. Press and hold the valet switch... nothing happens

I'll check the door pin, the pink ignition wire on my Multimeter, the Neutral Safety. Anything else I should look at?

Any help appreciated!
