Hello

I will be installing the Viper 791 into a mazda 3 2004

I need to have the car unlock before it starts for the factory alarm then lock up after it starts.

Problem is the Viper doesnot have that feature.

Any ideas?

Thanks and all help is appreciated

viper's factory alarm disarm to your unlock wire, then the viper's -200mA (negative) 2nd starter output to the vehicle's lock wire.

been a long time since i've worked on a mazda 3, have you tested the following wire to see if it will disarm without unlocking?
FACTORY ALARM DISARM       BLACK/ WHITE (-)       IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, HARNESS TO REAR OF VEHICLE

it will lock the doors when the remote start cranks the starter. as long as you the wait to start isn't being activated (which it won't be for your instance), the car will be unlocked for 2-5 seconds.
activate remote start
parking lights flash
doors unlock due to factory alarm disarm
igntions and accessories turn on
accessories drop and vehicle cranks, as it cranks it relocks the doors
this is the way that it has to be done with the vipers on some of the older vehicles that will only arm/disarm the oem alarm by locking/unlocking
