Im in the process of installing a clifford 330.3x into a 97 civic. im not using the remote start just as a note. there are 3 wires in the starter kill harness: key side, engine side n/c and engine side n/o. Just wondering if i need to use all 3 wires or if key side and one of the engine sides is neccessary, and which one. any help would be great. thanks.

Use just the key side and the engine side NC.

Ok will do, thanks for your help. What is the reasoning behind the 3 pin connector opposed to 2 pin like the other alarms I've seen?

Read the instructions, too much too explain here, simply with an NC you're only immobilised when the alarm is on.

While actually installing the alarm i did as you said only i used the black and yellow ignition wire, opposed to the starter, so the vehicle couldnt be bump started. i wired the key side from the alarm to key side at ignition wire and engine nc from the alarm to the engine side of the ignition wire and with the alarm armed the vehicle still starts. i was thinking that  the yellow ignition 2 wire would have to be used as well? also i installed a back up battery and while removing the battery cable to test it the alarm is really quiet. its been hooked up and installed for a day now so i would think it would be charged. any suggestions?
