viper 5701 jeep wrangler

I'm hoping someone might give me a little technical knowledge. I have recently installed a Viper 5701 alarm with remote start into my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. This is not my first alarm/remote start install, although I feel like it since i can't find the source of my problem. The alarm works great! I added door locks and they work great. Remote start does not work... It is a manual transmission. I follow the steps:

Make sure the doors on the vehicle are closed.

Put the transmission in neutral.

Press on the brake in the vehicle.

Apply the emergency brake.

Release the brake.

Within 15 seconds activate the remote start from the remote.

The parking lights will flash confirming that the remote start is active.

Turn off the ignition (the car should stay running when key is turned off).

Exit the vehicle.

Arm the alarm

and I get 7 park light flashes indicating:< size=1 face=OfficinaSans-Book>< size=1 face=OfficinaSans-Book>

Manual transmission mode is enabled and not initialized

I did do the "tach learn" sequence, and checked brake switch polarity (+ when applied) park brake/neutral safety (- when applied), and hood pin (resting at ground).

What am I missing? Any help would be great!

are you sure tach learned?  did you hook up door pin? did you connect ebrake? etc... etc....Kevin Gerry

The alarm is triggered when a door opens so I assume the pins are correctly wired and set up. I will double check though. I did the tach learn process a second time before making my original post. I did verify (as I originally posted) that the brake, Hood pin, and park brake/neutral safety wires were correctly hooked and voltages and polarity were correct. I'm just sure what all the "manual mode initiated but not enabled" entails. That's a broad spectrum. I'm obviously overlooking something that is important.r wolf

are you sure it is programmed for manual tranny?    is the door pin a true door pin or dome light?  is that dome staying on still when you close the door and hit lock?

BTW, hood pin should be resting "open" not at ground.....

The dome is not staying on. I am using a (-) door trigger from the factory door pin. The install manual says it comes preset in manual transmission mode so no I did not verify. You are correct and I misstyped, the Hood pin switch is resting at "open" my mistake... I did just recheck because I got to second guessing myself. Sorry for the wrong info there...r wolf

have you tried programming the unit for automatic and seeing if it remote starts?  (sit inside and leave it in neutral)

this will eliminate all the if's...clutch bypass, all circuits properly connected...etc etc

BTW, not sure if ity's a typo...but you need 12V on the Red and the RED / White primary wires as well as the RED / black.... if you are using the pink/white then all 3 primary powers need to be active (12V)

I will try reprogramming as auto and see what happens. That IS how I hooked up. I got the schematic online... is the pink/white the one I need to use & hook the RED / white and red to 12+ or do you have another suggestion?r wolf

if it's being used as a 2nd ACC then the pink/white is right... it will have to programmed as an ACC and not an IGN tho.....  and the unit wont work without the red and RED / white powered as 12V.....

this is why i always test the unity first in auto mode to verify that the remote start functions are correct and working before i move on to the manual tranny features.. it allows me to work backwards if something isnt working......
