I started the vehicle with the key, pressed the switch until the LED came on remained lit. I then released the switch and shut the car off, I cannot recall if the lights blinked or not.

Any other ideas on this problem?
Does it sound like an Avital issue or a vehicle issue?
Thanks

Okay guys, problem solved.

I sat down and thought about this for awhile and realized that I was grabbing an accessory feed off the remote starter to energize the relay that enabled the 180 ohm ignition path (if that makes sense).

So instead of coming on when cranking I had it on all the time, this was screwing up the van because it didnt see a momentary 180 ohms, it saw a constant 180 ohms.

To fix this I re-fed the relay with the ignition circuit from the van. HOWEVER, this required a diode so the van did not see 180 ohms x2 when the key was used. The diode isolated the relay so that it only comes on when the remote starter is triggered, no other time.

The starter works great and my wife should be thrilled when she opens the remotes on Christmas day!
