Did a loaded 05 Equinox LT a while ago with an iDatalink ADS DL module flashed with the GM4 firmware.  This vehicle had the factory alarm so the iDatalink module was the easy way to go.  Didn't have to cut the Passlock2 wire, only 4 wires to connect from the bypass to the car, handled the locks, alarm & Passlock2 and programmed first time with no issues.

I always do the 2 relay trick on equinox's since my coworker was having all kinds of issues with an xk06, as well as a flcan with it learning and programming properly but would lock the customer out at randome times.
i then went ahead and bypassed it with 2 relays and a resistor and all has been well.

what do you mean 2 relays and a resistor?

It is a way to bypass the vehicles Passlock2 immobilizer system during remote start.  Here is a link to a diagram and procedure :  http://documents.audiovox.com/700054.pdf   If you have the tools and parts, it is a very good and fairly inexpensive way to accomplish the bypass.

that maybe the way to go. Let me ask this of those who have used or are familar with the 556. when program. i turn the key on once, after about 1 sec the led lights, switch the key off, then back on again, after 1 sec  the led lights again. switch it off again and then start the vehicle. the led stays lit and never blinks like it says it should. ive also tried starting on 2nd key cylce, am i missing something?

Your programming sounds OK.  You might try going faster with the ON/OFF cycles.

If the light never does the final blink, then it is probable that it never learned the Passlock2

resistance.  Double check your wiring.  The Black wire from the 556LW Harness 1 should be soldered
to the cars Passlock2 Black Passlock2 reference wire.  The cars Passlock2 Yellow wire should be cut.
The 556LW Yellow wire from Harness 2 should be soldered to the Key ( ignition switch ) side and the
556LW BLACK / YELLOW wire should be soldered to the BCM side of the cut Yellow wire.  As mentioned before
it is sometimes necessary to temporarily disconnect the (-) Status Input wire while programming.

often times using only one relay will trip the security light on the dash to be on after remote start. i know on chevy trucks that happens if you only use 1 relay.
