Attempting to install a viper 5301. Hooked up the factory hood pin to the bcm, green wire pin 24, turned off the tach, and double checked all ignition, accessories(both green and orange), and starter wires with DMM. I hooked up the factory arm and disarm wire, but it will not start. The parking lights blink about 6 times and nothing happens. Is a keysense wire needed for this car? Car does not have a transponder.

no the car doesnt have a key sense. check to make sure that the hood pin is not throwing a negative even when its closed also double check the brake wire sometimes u can hook up the wrong brake wire and if it shows positive the car wont start. Also did u install the neutral safety switch.
Confidence is the key to any project!!

Brilliant! I noticed the hood pin switch was showing 0.3 positive volts when the hood was closed and a ground (-) when it was open.
I used the green wire on the brake switch, seemed to test out ok. Will double check.
Grounded the neutral safety switch.
Also looking to hook up rear defrost. Is there a defrost wire on the BCM?
Thanks for your help.

Parking lights were blinking 8 times. Diagnostic said it was a neutral safety switch error. The transmission was already in automatic and checked the ground. I have the chassis ground and neutral safety tied to the same point. Car still does not start, everything else works ok (passive door locks and trunk release).

have you tried starting the car manually then attempt to do the quick stop feature (valet take over) to see if the r/s keep it running that way. how about connecting tach wire,always works 100% for me

no problem. At this point i am stumped. Here are my wire connections. May be i connected something wrong or there is an on board jumper setting not set correctly. Any help is appreciated.
HEAVY GAUGE REMOTE START 8-PIN
------------------------------
H3/1 hooked to Blue @ ignition harness
H3/2 -> pink 12v const
H3/3 -> orange (acc 1)
H3/4 -> green (starter)
H3/5 -> red (12v const)
H3/6 -> green (acc2 programed as acc)
H3/7 -> not used
H3/8 -> red (12v const)
REMOTE START INPUT 5-PIN
-------------------------
1 -> grounded to chassis
2 -> not used (programmed tach off)
3 -> green (at brake switch, reads 12v when pressed)
4 -> grounded to chasis (programmed NC, was BCM pin 24)
5 -> not used.
on 12 pin connector all wires are used except H1/4, H1/10, and H1/12
factory alarm and disarm connected at kick panel and verified with multimeter.
