Had a call about a 08 Caliber remote start install. My question is (after reviewing some install guides), what is the most recommended bypass and door lock module for this vehicle?

I'd rather stay away from diodes if possible, and I have access to idatalink, and xpresskit. I'll have to check with my supplier on fortin.

I did a dodge nitro 2007(exact same wiring) with the idatalink ads al(dl) ch5. Very solid module i definiatly recomend it. Xpresskit is good too. But i like the idatalink.Hope this helps.

idatalink ads-al-ca or Xpreskit PK-MUX will work.

X2 with jpadj22. iDatalink modules work great on Chrylser products. Only need one key to program.

Personally would go with the fortin if you could get your hands on it.

A Evo-CHR with the T Harness, THAR-CHR1 i believe. There is a THAR-CHR2 which is for older CHR vechiles, so make sure you get the right one. Fortin's website has all the info.

I attached a video from fortin showing the install in a 09 caliber. Its quite easy and takes a lot less time than other bypasses.

If getting a remote starter that has a RS-232 datalink connection to it you can also save more time with less wiring. A lot of the RS-232 alarms can do electronic ignition which saves splicing into ignition wires, and the fortin has the output for most other wires like door locks, lights, horn, foot brake, etc.

On a side note I would maybe recommended wiring up the tach wire separate, because i have had problems on a ram truck with there being a bit of a delay on start, and over cranking.
