Dunno, but i might guess that since the factory amp has separate channels for each speaker there is a good possibility it also contains the crossovers. This is something you will need to address...

i felt the same way with the crossover but check this install and write up and they used no crossover and one channel amp.

cant reach the onwer of that car.

If you're not replacing with all new components then you need a factory stereo wiring diagram.  Your local professional install shop probably has access to one, or you can buy it from your VW dealer.

I don't understand why he would need any more wiring info other than the deck and amp wiring....

He needs a stereo wiring diagram if he's trying to keep his factory speakers and replace the factory amp so he can find out how the speakers are wired, if there are any crossovers or if it's using active crossovers, and the wiring color code at the factory amp location.  Well to be completely honest he doesn't NEED it as it could be figured out, but it sure would make his life easier.  Stereo Wiring for 04 VW Touareg - Page 2 -- posted image.

i got the factory diag but doesnt show a crossover some say it is cross at the door already, and  i have seen on the net some didnt use any. the diag doesnt show any ign wire so i can use it as a remote.

I think that's pretty much been covered on page 1.

There is no ignition wire in this car as the radio is data controlled. Best bet is the fuse box for a switched power...

so far so good did not add the amp yet just using the factory but no radio recp and i used the antenna adapter.
