plexiglass box?

Is it possible to build a sealed box out of plexiglass?? using the right thickness and bracing? is it possible or will the plexiglass flex under high pressure or will it not stand up at the seams to high pressure?? any ideas would be helpful, thanksneed help about everything

It is possible to do if you get the correct kind of plexiglass. They sell it to the public but it is very expensive. They sell all plexiglass sub boxes on Ebay if you wanted to see what they look like, but they also are quite expensive, and I do not know what the sound quality is from an all plexiglass box. If I was going to try to build my own, for relatively cheap I would try Lexan, it is thicker than normal plexiglass, but I don't think it would hold up under high pressure. The plexiglass that is used on Sub boxes is made a lot stronger in order for it to work well.

yeah that's what I was thinking it would have to be really thick to hold up to the pressure from the subs, thanks alot, do you have any idea where to get plexiglass or lexan??need help about everything

A 4 x 8 foot sheet of 3/4" plexi can run several hundred dollars - usually I see it going for $500+.  Do a search on Google and I'm sure you can find some distributors, but be ready to pay through the nose, and don't forget that shipping will be via freight truck usually, and that will tack on at least another $125.  You'd be better off financially to buy one of the ones on Ebay, but I have no idea what kind of quality you are getting into with them - probably not that great to be honest.

I had a friend build one for his truck. Holds 2 15" Kickers. I'll try to get some pictures and post them. As for sound, it's loud as hell.
