I just installed a viper5902 in my 2004 jeep TJ, 5speed. I also installed the 508d and 520t. The alarm functions work great but I can't get it into mts mode so that I can use the r/s function. When I try to set into mts, after I release the brake and press a button and activate remote start, i am supposed to turn key off and it should stay running. Instead it shuts down and I get 6 flashes, telling me there is a problem
With the hood. The hood pin triggers the alarm so I know it is grounding properly. Is there something I am missing?

Yes, sorry, the tach is connected, parking brake is also. I just went over every connection to triple check, and everything is connected that should be and is working properly. I have done the tach learning procedure. I set mine to option 4(tach). Should I change this setting maybe?

Ok, so I just tried disconnecting the pin switch and I am getting the same result, but the first flash is a really fast one so I'm not sure if I am getting 5 or 6 flashes. 5 would be something to do with the brake pedal. Not sure how that would cause an issue because in order it activate remote start in MTS mode I have to press and release the brake, and I can activate, I just can't remove the key and keep it running.

Sorry to bump, but in all my reading I never really got a clear answer whether or not the r/s activation wire (h1/10) should be connected. I left it disconnected because as I understood it's for remote starting from a different source. Am I confused with this?

The rs activation wire will start the car if grounded either 1,2,or 3 times (depending how you program it)  So you could hook it to the factory lock wire, and when you press lock on a factory remote 1,2, or3 times...  it will start the car.   It is not needed for the remote start to function normally.

Thats makes sense, the 2004 jeep TJ didnt come with factory door locks so that won't work. The error flashes 6 times telling me it's the hood pin problem.

Have you tried grounding the BLACK/ white neutral safety switch, also program it for manual transmission?

It comes programmed for manual as a default, but i just double checked to be sure, and it is.  As far as the BLACK/ white wire, that is connected to the parking brake wire that test negative when ebrake is applied, isnt that correct?
