Hi guys.How are you all?
I am back with more with more questions and need some proffesional advice.
I have got this setup in my little merc(A-class):
HU:Sony CDX-M730
Speakers
Front: SPR-176A (Alpine)
Rear: SPR-694A (Alpine)
Sub: SWR-1541D(Alpine)
Amplifiers
MRD-M300(Alpine),MRV-F340(Alpine)
I want to change my head unit(Sony for Alpine one)
i am thinking of geting HU with MP3 playback and without internal amplifier because i have 4chanel one
MRV-F340(Alpine).I do not want it to be very expensive.(between300-600$)
Now my questions:
1.Are Alpine HU good?
2.Does MP3 cd play with the same SQ?IF it's not i do not need HU wich plays MP3 cd.Need Head Unit advice -- posted image.
3.Is it good idea to buy HU without internal amplifier? If it's not good i do need HU without internal amplifier.Need Head Unit advice -- posted image.
Can you plz advice me HU from 300 to 600$(a few of them plz)and good reliable website to buy them?
Sorry for too many qustions and my bad English.Thank you very much.Need Head Unit advice -- posted image.

i personally think alpine's are one of the best HU's. HU's w/out inernal amps are good becuase it leaves room for bigger capacitors, better tuner, better cd reading etc. MP3 playback quality is pretty good. Probably wouldn't notice a difference between regular cd's. On top of that, HU's w/mp3 playback have better cd reading than HU's w/out mp3 playback. Alpine has a HU for about 400$. It's the one w/blue bottuns.

Either Nakamichi or Alpine HU are good.

I'm with DjRDifacs on this one. I have an Alpine HU and will never own a different makers HU. I hear Eclipse HU are just as nice as Alpine if not better. I'm totally pleased with my Alpine HU.

there is some truth and some non truth in the previous statements...
Alpine head units are one of the best SQ decks you can buy today...Eclipse hu's are great as well, but IMO not as good as the Naks...
it has always seemed to me that non amplified decks are a little cleaner, but I cant back that up or claim it as fact...just my personal experience...I will not use an amplified head unit in my car...
when you get to the point of having an ultra SQ system, you will notice the huge decline in sound quality in an mp3 vs a store bought CD...when you get into ultra SQ you will probably even choose to stop playing burnt CDs unless you are very picky about the songs you download and the sources for them...mind you, this is when you REALLY care about SQ and have the ear to pick it out...I will probably never own an mp3 player, because it really bothers me when I can hear flaws in playback/recording...I sometimes burn a CD 5 or 6 times, searching for a better copy of the song...you can never tell off of your computer speakers how that particular copy of the song will sound...so I burn a CD and decide which songs I want to keep and which songs I will have to search for again...
that being said, I am very very picky about music and recording quality...others may not be this fanatical about it, but I didnt spend as much money as I have to listen to static, hiss, and other flaws...

Hi guys

i am from the seycchelles and believe me car audio info is still in the stone age period here. Thank God for the net and a site like 12volt. well, i want to buy the best car system i can with the limited budget i have and i have some basic questions.

1. I am thinking of buying 2 kickerCVR124 plus the vented box for this from Sub-zone. from what i have read, kicker is decent and good for the money. Is this a good choice for subs?

2. I am stuck a bit on amplifier and know that at 400 watt RMS each these subs will eat a lot of power, what sort of amplifier (brand)can you recommend for the above ?

3. finally, i am a bit confused about speakers- the subwoofers are rated at 400 watt rms each, but mosst speakers i see are about 100/200 rms, what does this mean, do i have to buy lots of speakers to make up for this or what?

some of this may sound stupid, but i am new to this and would appreciate all the advice from u experts out there that i can get

many thanks

About kicker subs, personally i think they not bad for SPL but if you want SQ and do not want to pay a lot i think it's better to go with Alpine's subs(they sound cleaner),obviously there are a lot of different names that are better then Alpine but you told you do not want to spend a lot of money.
Sorry for my bad english.
But about the rest it's very long story....
