My friend just bought a 2011 Dodge truck. They told him that it doesnt have an alarm in it. After looking at it, there is a siren under the hood pin, sensors alredy installed. Would he have to go back to the dealer or is there any aftermarket tricks to getting it working? He was also not supplied any keyless enty remotes. Thank you in advance for any help

I have yet to see an OEM alarm have a siren.  If it does have a siren, chances are it has an aftermarket alarm.  Follow the wire from the siren to find the alarm brain.  Look for a manufacturer name and a model number.  Then maybe you can get a remote for it.

Its not after market for sure I bought the truck 3 days ago with 16 miles on it.  But I dont know why there is an alarm installed and they say it wasnt.  Followed the wires to the box.  No brand name just serial numbers.

Are you sure it is a siren?

pretty sure it looks like one.  For the sake of arguement lets say it is a factory alarm siren or not, there is a module mounted under the dash with one red button and it looks like a chip or something might plug into it.  This module has wires that run to the alarm brain with the shock sensor dial on it.  I never got the remote for the system.  How would one utilize this alarm with out probably being screwed by the dealership which told me it didnt have an alarm iinstalled yet to begin with.  I only found out because my buddy who installs alarms check it out and told my there is a dealer one already installed.
