You are better off wiring brake and tach to the RS instead of through the bypass. I did an install on an 04 with a fortin bypass and the tach wire through the bypass seemed to have a delay which caused over cranking. Hard wiring it took the problem away.
On a side note I had a very good experience with the fortin techs who made a new firmware version specific for the truck I was working with which was an 04, but had the door lock and unlock voltages of an 05.
