My neighbor just bought a new 2011 Kia Optima and asked me if I could put a starter in it. He is actually an old customer of mine from my days at C.City (small world).
It is a 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid with the SmartKey ignition. I looked on xpresskit.com and found that the DB-ALL with the 401 hyundai ___ firmware is listed as the bypass with foot brake output, tach output, etc. all in the bypass but I was hoping to get input from someone who has possibly done it before???
I also would like to get ahold of a schematic/diagram/wiring list for the wiring so I don't have to go digging (don't mind doing it on older cars, but not a big fan of it on newer cars with crazy electronics).
Thanks in advance.

Never installed on a Hybrid.  The closest one was a 2011 Sonata GLS w/o PTS.  With Toyotas, they are different from standard models.  The wire guide listing doesn't mention the Hybrid or differentiate the Optima models.  Here is a link to wiring guide info from DEI : http://www.readyremote.com/main.asp?make=Kia&model=Optima

Fortin and iDatalink offer bypass modules for the KIA Optima but don't specifically memntion the Hybrid.  A call to DEI, Fortin or iDatalink might be in order.

Here is a link to the Fortin EVO-ALL install guide : https://ifar.ca/en/download/3346/preview.html

It includes some pictures of the car with the wires labeled for their bypass module installation.

Soldering is fun!

Well that is a lot more than I had before. I might have to take a look under the dash and see if everything looks like it might match. Thanks for the great links!! I've been trying to find an accurate place for wire diagrams ever since C.City closed and it seems like everything I could find was always wrong.

Here are a few more wire guide links.

Bulldog Security :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

AudioVox :  http://techservices.audiovox.com/login.aspx   Sign up is free.

S P A M :  http://www.S P A M.com/remote-start-wiring-diagrams-and-car-starter-wire-guides/

A lot of advertising and slightly obtuse to navigate.

As always, compare, locate and verify with a DMM.

Another good source of info is from Fortin.  Certain models of their bypass modules come with a Activation Card.

This card allows access to their WireColor database for one vehicle.   If the module you need does not come
with the card, you can always pay a $5 fee for access.  Here is a link :  http://wirecolor.com/en/news/

whatever bypass you choose, the guide for it will tell you all the connections to make.

I've been using Audiovox and its very hit or miss. Some vehicles are spot on and others (like my wife's 08 jeep liberty) are WAY off. But the DMM never lies.... usually.
