so today i installed my Viper 5901 in my 2004 subaru STi with the following addons:
507m Tilt sensor
520t Backup Battery
530t Window module
so my issue is im having a hard time understanding the directions of the diodes connecting to both the blue wire (Instant trigger) and the orange wire (-) (Ground when armed) i installed all diodes with the stripe away from the brain for all wires connecting to the orange and blue wires. was this correct?
i'm thinking it isn't only because when i arm the alarm the windows dont roll up.
i was reading for the blue wire (Instant trigger) that the diode stripe should be facing the sensors (away from the brain), but wires connecting to the orange wire (Ground when armed) should have the diode stripe facing towards the brain.
can someone please help me out. i dont want to burn anything out, and hopefully i didnt. if i have to change the diode position i want to do it asap. Thanks.
Chris

The current flows OUT the line end - ie from +ve in the other end and out the -ve line end and through the circuit.
That's easy to remember if you know the diode circuit symbol where its "arrow" shows the direction of current flow, and the symbol's "perpendicular" at the pointed end of the arrowhead correlates to the diode body's line.
Click the Diodes link in the upper Menu Bar above to see the symbol etc.
(Yes, the12volt has it all!)
Diodes are used to prevent other sources back-feeding into the diode's source.
Knowing the desired current flow direction (from + to - ) and the "arrow" symbol should make the correct connection/direction easy to work out.

thanks so much for all the help. looks like i had the diodes on the blue wire wired correctly but the ones on the orange (ground to arm) wire reversed. now the million dollar question. by doing this did i mess anything up?

No and if you turn around the diode on the orange wire, your 530t will now work.

howie from what i quoted you above. the 507m is a sensor as well. i believe i have the blue wire correctly wired on the diode but the diode on the orange wire is so the stripe is away from the brain. this should be flipped just like the diode on the 530t, correct?
thanks again!

Stripes on sensor wire diodes, all to face the sensors NOT the brain.
Orange GWA wire going to 530t, diode stripe TOWARDS brain and away from 530t.
